The Wrong Yellow River Channel and the Missing Yangtze and Huai Rivers

The Yangtze River is the largest river in the world in terms of flow, except for the Congo River and the Amazon River. It will only surpass the Yangtze River and the Congo River if all the rivers in Bangladesh are unified.

The annual runoff of the Huai River is relatively small, but it is still 30 billion cubic meters, which is close to the annual runoff of the Danube River. Moreover, as the downstream of the Yellow River for a long time, the absence of the Huai River channel and numerous lakes on it is also not appropriate.

The mistake in the Yellow River channel on the map is that it was actually the channel of the Ji River during the Spring and Autumn Period. At this time, the mouth of the Yellow River was near Tianjin and it flowed into the Bohai Sea through the Haihe River system.

Although it is only a minor flaw, the correct simulation of immersion in the river is important.I hope this small mistake can be corrected. After watching the video, I found that there was communication between the production team and the Chinese mod team, so I won't release my rough map here.

The paper map in the video is a work in progress. The landmasses and rivers presented there are months behind the most recent work from the designers ( or the feedback from our specialists ). I'm waiting for them to call it 100% done before coming back to the map and doing the necessary adjustments since it's a lot of manual work.

I'm waiting for them to call it 100% done before coming back to the map and doing the necessary adjustments since it's a lot of manual work.

Wouldn't you like the community to help create a map? Something like Tinto talk's, but in Crusader king's?

The shifting Yellow River is very important that they get right! OP I think you're not quite correct and I think your suggestion is not the ideal set up.

This is a really hard time because the river shifted wildly during the games timeframe:

I think maybe they should make a bit of a gameplay exceptions and put both the Jin-Yuan period flow and the Han-Tang era flow like it currently has. They cover the largest extent of in game time and are the two most fundamentally opposed courses.

I think the Northern Song era river is less important that the two others since the Han-Tang one is sort of close enough and was around for more of the games time frame.

Literally all 3 always on the map might be a fine solution too.

I think only picking one of the courses is a huge mistake. The massive difference between the earlier northern route and the later southern route is too important to not represent both.

I think it would be better to have two major yellow rivers at the same time than miss one for the other.

It should be noted that the massive shifting of the yellow river was part natural with floods and part deliberate but also became irreversible after shifting fully south until the 1800's.

You misunderstood my meaning. I just pointed out that the Yellow River channel on the map now is the Ji River channel, which is considered an independent river in China. I did not mention the numerous river problems after the Yellow River diversion.

We have similar problem already with Burma and wrong coastline. In medieval times it looked different.
I don't belive it will be ever corrected.

Ah I see what you mean now. Yeah there isn't even a Yellow river right from what I can see.

Honestly I don't envy then figuring that out.

It is hard to imagine how this game should handle the major historical event of river diversion. It feels like programmer's hell.
