I'm planing in making ASOIF mod, or at least part of it, or at least just the map.

Let me truthful to you.

I am know to start things and not finishing them right away.

Still, right now I want to try to make a Westeros' Map, but I can't do it all by myself, that is why I ask you to help me.

I have the tools to make it, still it will take time and lots of patience.

So right now you can help me by making the provinces of Westeros.

Here is the Map of The saga:

And before you ask, yes this mod shall start when the book starts..

Question, will you help me?

Great job! The only place that I think probably needs more detail is the Iron Isles. They're an important kingdom, and should probably have more than two provinces. If you wanted to simulate them very accurately with vassals and such, there should be Great Wyk, Old Wyk, Saltcliffe, Orkmont, Blacktyde, Harlaw, and of course Pyke, but that might be too much to do with little islands.

Also, Heart's Home should probably be there in the Vale, I think it's one of the more important lands. It's in the northeastern part of where you have the Eyrie now, according to the map in the book.

I probably don't have the ability or energy to do much actual mapping or modding but I'd be happy to contribute by researching characters/perhaps coming up with stat/trait suggestions for them and maybe province wealth values.

I wonder how well a Westeros mod will work since vassals control all but one province for most of the countries. The kings will be pretty easy to defeat since they'll not have many provinces that need besieging. Might need to turn Winterfell, etc into multiple provinces, or fudge a bit and take some lands away from vassals.

PS: A couple little typo nitpicks - Duskdale should be Duskendale, Kinggrave should be Kingsgrave, Pinkmaden should be Pinkmaiden, and Moat Calin should be Moat Cailin.

I will add 2 more provinces, I think that should be enough.

About Heart's Home I'm adding it as I write.

I don't have much info about the North, I already added 3 provinces without a "Capital".
From the books one really get's the sensation that one can not do anything without one's vassals. That should be the same here.
And some research will be needed, but I will now focus on making the Map.

Thanks for the Typos, those are very important.

So, ( yes I'll continue posting even if no one is interested ) right now Westeros has 130 provinces, I've done what Skyman told me and added some more provinces. This should balance a bit.

if you are wondering, this is the province count by Kingdom

Behond the Wall: 7
The Wall 7
The North: 19
Iron Islands: 4
Riverlands: 13
Vale: 11
DragonStone: 7
Westerlands: 13
Reach: 17
Stormlands: 13
Dorne: 14
Kingslanding: 2

Any Comments?

*The province without a name is Badallon

Great work, map's looking very nice. Here are a few little things I've noticed:

-In the map in the book, Bitterbridge is to the northeast of Longtable instead of the southeast, and it is also almost directly east of Goldengrove. I can't find info on exactly where Tumbleton is, so you could probably switch it with Bitterbridge (unless I missed some geographical info).

-The island should be Evenfall Hall rather than Even Hall.

-Typos: Rook's Rest and Widow's Watch need apostrophes. You put Acron Hall instead of Acorn. It's Hellholt, not Hellhot.

Thanks for putting in the time on this!

One more thing, Oldtown is one word.

I'm also thinking Brightwater Keep of House Florent should be in there since they're a rather important house. It could go where you have Badallon now. I'd also give some of northern Uplands to them, and a bit of its western part to Oldtown (as it is the city of Oldtown is right on the border of the province).

One other option would be to put Blackcrown where you have Oldtown now, and give the eastern bit of that province and a chunk of Upland to Oldtown. I don't know if the house is particularly important but Blackcrown is on the book map.

That's getting to be a lot of Reach provinces, but then they do have far more people than any other kingdom.

Great! This work is awesome.
I just suggest to include the rivers as ocean zones (and highly increase the movement costs, so it's very difficult to cross Rivers. And of course, make the twins a province.

About Rivers, they are not my biggest priority right now, sorry.

About the Twins they are already a Province, and I forgot to add a small thing, but the objective of making them a XL province is that they became a must pass province from the North to the South and vice-versa

What do you want to put into the land beyond the Wall? The Mongols? How can you simulate the Wall? The Nightwatch (or however they were called) could of course be a Military Order.

But I think you should focus on the 7 Kingdoms. Maybe you could add Daenarys as Mongols Horde?

Well, I suggest that we use the different terrains to simulate the Wall and the rivers.
These are the terrains:

Name;MoveCost
Forest;2.0
Hills;3.0
March;2.5
Mountain;5.0
Plains;1.0
Desert;1.1
Ocean;2
River;1.0
Sea;1.5

The higher you put the number, the slower an army can move to the province. For this mod, we could mix, let's say, mountains and hills to free one terrain tag. We could "rename" it to "weir system" and put the number up to, hm, 8 or 9. This can be used for the wall. The enemies will easily break through.

Then you will have to make the sea-zones impassible. Else the AI will just move the troops across the sea-zones.

The AI always picks the fastest route

I'm thinking about giving it the strongest Fort Possible. The nightwatch shall be a military order, yes
