Hi !

still playing my Turkish Grand Campaign, I achieved 603 Victory points in year 1579.

When I check the VP graph in the ledger, it increases slowly over time, it is normal as I am at peace since 1566.

But checking how my latest Sultans fared gave me a big surprise !

Suleiman I brought me 349 VP,

his successor Selim II (no wars, just incresed his economy) was rated as - 150 VP (yes ! MINUS 150 VP !)

And the ruler I have now (Murad III) was worth -750 VP when accessing to power in 1574  even if now the rating is better at -697 only :D He's also a peaceful guy that just went on exploring West Africa.

If I total all the VP given by my successive rulers, I get the figure of -402 VP total just because of these 2 last ones.

However, as I said, Turkey has 603 VP...

My question is : is this a bug or Kings VP have nothing to do with Country VP ?

If it is normal, how could a guy just nominated be so bad as -750 VP without doing anything ?

I'm playing with NA version, patch 1.08

From the third Monarch on, previous monarchs get deducted several times from the total earned.

Thus, if you want to know the values for your monarch, take a calculator or pen and paper and work it out.

Thanks for your reply !

1) How does the formula go exactly ?

2) Who's the guy in Paradox who said one day : "hey, I've got an idea : on the monarchs ledger, why not decide to deduct several times the amount earned by previous monarchs ? Say we start from the 3rd Monarch on ?" Who are the others in Paradox who decided after careful thinking : "sounds great to us ! let's implement that"

In short : why do such a thing ?

Bugs tend to be unintentional ;) I guess it isn't fixed yet cuz it really is a minor thing compared to more serious gameplaying issues.
