A tale of two computers

Hello. I have two PCs. The old one, running Windows 98 has CK installed on it. The new one has my high speed internet and runs Vista.
I'd like to purchase DV from Gamers Gate. Can I download it to my new machine then copy it to my old one and install, or can I/should I run CK/DV on my new Vista PC?

You must install CK on your new computer, then download and install DV on that computer.

Then you can copy the ck folder over to your old computer.

But CK also runs fine on a new PC with Vista

Thanks for the replies. If I interpret them correctly, I can't download the DV file to my new computer and then transfer it to my old one and install. I have to install both CK and DV on my new pc and then copy the whole CK folder to my old pc.
