1938
The countries that were succesfull last year were succesful again as seen with the arrows.
At the end of 1937 the Japanese had full control of the Philippines. At around December 20th the Japanese did a shocking thing:
Seeing this I had to jump on the oppurtunity quickly taking most of it over. As men slowly were distracted in events like, saving the divisions in Diego Garcia, and taking the remaining US islands the Japanese too took advatage with a massive landing in Manilla.
After little debate I decided that my troops would stay and fight for a change. For now I was outnumbered so the most logical thing to do was to retreat to the owned provinve of Davoa. Slowly I started bringing troops in.
What theatre I stayed with was the taking of key provinces in Siam held
Signapore. Hoping to annihalate 2 Siamese divisions.
The Japanese slowly go their men up for an attack and it was
brutal. Rushing all available men, it was going to be close as 2 militia divisions were gone in the early days of battle.
It was a good day, the Australian troops proved efectiveness. But in this war of attrition, I lose quickly. But for now I lick my wounds. I captured Signapore unopposed and move on eventually captured the to Siamese division ill-equipped and ill-commanded.
The succes in Signapore wasn't the only achievement for the Australians as again I repeled the Japanese, by now I was at 50% casualties and that was only 2 battles. But the Japanese had far worse.
Seeing the tight situation I was in I decided to press foward, because a great offense is a good defense... I only hope thats true.
I have no clue what happened here but I would go unopposed, to the next province. Unfortunatley the Japanese did too, capturing a Davoa that had some fortifications being made.
I seeing the encirclement possibilities I took a chance with a 4 division landing in Manilla. I split my forces which no good General should do.
I don't know whether the situation turn for a worse since the year begun or it got better, but with my new 5 cruisers on the way, I hope I can open the way for more troops. But thats another year in
