A way to avoid freezeup on peace

It seem the computer freezes when you make peace a lot of the times. For me it does anyway.

It also seems that the last screen I see before I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL my way to the desktop is a screen where the nation you offered a peace is both at war (on the diplo screen) with you and your vassal in the messages menu.

What I realised is that if you offer peace, press F3 or F4 to get away from the diplo menu as soon as you hit the "send" button. Get away from the diplo screen ASAP, preferably tenths of seconds later.

Sounds weird, I know, but if you are having the troubles I had, you could perhaps try it and report any results...

Do you have the latest patch?

Instead of going through the diplo menu, right click on them and offer peace there. That way you drop drop out when you send the offer.

Hmmm, I'll try the right click, perhaps. F3ing isn't that bad, once I got used to it, though.
