I think I'm not the only person here who thinks that Cities Skylines on consoles is abandoned, they create a forum in which they ignore the suggestions that the community has been asking for for several months, for example more mods, to unlock the 25 tiles.
Console players pay the same price as on PC and we have less content, literally we don't even have the map editor that comes in Vanilla on PC. We have a community that wants to share their created maps with other players and we are tired of the maps coming in vanilla and in DLC.
I have Cities Skylines on console because I don't have a good PC. Cities I love and I know that everyone here too and I firmly believe that they think the same to finish my suggestion is that they listen to me I tell you from the heart I have all the DLC except Natural disasters.

The reason for the cost is because the console editions were developed by a different studio. As for mods there a a few reasons.
1. The hardware in the current consoles can't handle much more than texture changes. They struggled to even add the time speed toggle when the game released on consoles.
2. The mods have to be added by the developers with permission from mod creators.
3. It takes time away from them developing new DLCs which is what makes them money.

We haven’t been abandoned by the Devs, they just have a bit of a handicap when it comes to consoles.
Our systems can’t run the expansive mods that PCs can. They have even stated in the past that they tried to add them but beyond assets it took so much work and manpower that it just wasn’t feasible. As for more tiles, I have nearly maxed out the 9 I have in game and it’s laggy as hell so it definitely wouldn’t run 25!

Map editor I agree would be nice but again if it puts too much strain on the console it’s just not worth doing. There are tons of things that I wish we can do in the console version of the game that are seen as “essential” mods on the PC version but it’s not through lack of trying on the part of paradox, collassal and tantalus (console port devs). Our systems just won’t handle what they were trying to do so rather then a laggy bigger mess we have what we currently have which while it does have its limitations it’s still a playable game.

Currently playing on PS4 Pro.
Does that mean that when the PS5 and Xbox X2 (which will be 8x more powerful) and we play the game on these consoles which comes out this year we will be able to have more tiles, higher cim’s cap per map, better landscaping tools (like water placement, small brushes and square shaped ones), traffic manager?
I don’t understand why Traffic manager is not available currently in Vanilla game, so many of my larger cities hitting 67,000 stop doing crazy lane switching or just stopping on the highway/roads for no reason and so the city starts to fall apart (yes I have tried every trick in the book to fix this including watching and implementing videos found on *utube*, but they don’t work)
Why was 1 way and 2 way bus only lanes removed from Vanilla game?
I really wish I could stop cars parking on roads and dedicated carparks/ multi-storey garages instead of cars appearing out of my underground station and clogging up the traffic.
Currently we also need more types of roads (double stack ones)/interchanges and roundabouts.
I want the ability to make lakes without the fix around of placing a pumping station and fresh water outlet to do this.
I love this game so much so it will be the first thing I load up on my PS5 as long as I don’t have to purchase it again.
I really hope that Mods appear on the PS5.

What you are describing here are mods, and while yes, the new consoles will be a lot more powerful it doesn't necessarily mean we will see mods. It'll definitely be possible but the decision still come down to the developers.

If they decide to add more mods they won't want to add all the mods themselves as it takes time away from developing new DLC which makes them money. The best option would to create a way for players to upload our own mods. This will still take a fair amount of time to develop but it'll take less time than adding every mod manually and testing every single one of them.

The are some negatives to something like this though. The first being that they will are mods and PlayStation doesn't allow mods. The second is that the mods won't all be tested by the developers. This means that a mod could be added which may cause problems such as game crashes or certain parts of the game to stop working.

How about creating a separate game called Cities Skylines Custom Creator Editor which has Vanilla game settings for Move-it, Traffic Manager, advance landscaping tools etc for PS4 and Xbox.
How it would work is you can load your saved games into this (no simulation occurs) and choose a section (copy and paste style) like 20x20 units which then can be edited to alter an intersection/traffic manager for example or create a totally new intersection. Once finished you copy and paste it back into a beta save version of the original save and load the save in the Custom Creator Editor to see if it works as you like/ as intended.
Save the game as something else and load it up in Cities Skylines as the QC side has been done in the Editorial Version no crashes of problems should occur and as the Custom Creator Editor has the tools as Vanilla they won’t be considered as Mods ( I am unsure what counts as Mods though).

Hi, are you sure PlayStation doesn't allow mods? On fallout 4 there is complete mod support, although it's limited, it works greatly on ps4.

Sony won’t allow 3rd party mods, only mods made using the games existing assets, coding etc . that is why FO4 has a much larger mod selection on Xbox. All the stuff you get on FO4/Skyrim for the PS. Is all made using stuff you find in game anyway.

Traffic management is an essential part of the game and I wish it was better in the vanilla game already.

As somebody pointed out, having roads with more than 3 lanes is pointless because all cars are queuing into a single one most of the time.

On PC, solution is easy: download some essential mods like traffic manager. On Console, there's neither mods nor fixes.

I understand putting up a hub of approved mods for PS4 is a hard work (but can be done, skyrim is doing it, for instance). Then the devs should test and make available a pack of essential mods (those running on PS4) as a DLC.

If that's the case, Then why not make mod support that allows us to utilize the game's existing assets itself? I mean, I don't think there would be any real function but would make assets look cooler.
Also, what about the mod support of Minecraft on the ps4? The new version brought user-created mods that don't seem to use assets that are already on the game, The mods are pay to win though.

Why can't we at least have a map editor that we can make our own 9 tile map
Since there is already a landscaping tool, I'm pretty sure they can just give us a flat map with high way connections and some water and call it "map editor". But who knows, maybe there are some console "limitations" that would allow you to add more DLC maps but not a flat empty map.

If things like traffic manager are such a huge strain on performance, then perhaps they should give us workarounds. 1 lane non-highway roads for example. Three-lane one-way roads so that we can have a dedicated turning lane, for example. The option to copy and paste custom-built interchanges would also go a long way to easing traffic for console users.

The vanilla interchanges kinda suck. You can pick between the three-way or the clover leaf. Both of which get backed up very easily.

I understand that we can not do all this given the limits of the PS4 but can we imagine improvements on the PS5:
- better traffic management (options for lanes, parking, speed ...)
- cards a little larger and especially customizable (create / modify cards and add water wherever you want)
- better road management (at least the same roads available as on the PC version) and that we can paste road segments to make it cleaner and open up possibilities
- options or filters for colors of vanilla assets and textures / sky - and without even talking about MOD, could we not have an asset shop allowing a greater variation and possibilities?
- an option also to hide the alerts on the map and automatically delete the abandoned plots?
- more exchangers and possibilities at this level without necessarily having to create them by hand when possible
-- copy/past asset
- option to manage the height of assets, roads once installed and why not be able to superimpose building assets to arrange the population and style
- increase the maximum of terraforming

I think that just these "little things" would allow a great improvement of the game on PS5 and a necessary upgrade
