I hope no minds that I created this thread...

Did the Mameluks have Sultans, or is there some other title I can/should use?

EDIT: Cleaned up, you can find the events in the file below...

Well, I dislike the Crete conquest part. Especially because of it's timing. 1450-1463 period is the time of first Palaiologoi attempt for emperorship and Krete's most important event happens in 1450, affecting Byzantium's first succession choice rather significantly. Also Byzantium of the Komnenoi (1419-1463 period) is rather at odds with Krete, so it would be more appropriate for Krete to gain support from Genoans should there be conflict.

So, I'd suggest either move the Crete-conquest events to 1470s (they likely have an admiral by then) or change the current event to give reaction events to Crete, Genoa and Byzantium to retaliate.

I see, so it would be some kind disaster if Crete was annexed by anyone (except the Empire?) before 1463?

What kind of reaction events where you thinking of? The Mameluks building their fleet or their attempt to conquer Crete?
And perhaps it's only me, but it's just a core on the province for ~20 years, not an inherit command. (Also, when I played The Byzantines, Crete had a standing army of 30k, which would be impossible for any AI to conquer)

Not a disaster, no. It would limit Byzantium's options early on certainly, but I wouldn't call it a disaster. Also the critical date is 1450, after that annexing Crete wouldn't matter so much...

Hmh, for Genoa a chance to buy some ships for Crete and possibly make alliance. For Byzantium, a chance to make alliance, but as a B option, so it wouldn't be too often picked by AI. I could create them after we find a solution that is pleasing to us both.

I know that Crete might be annexed before 1450 anyway, but I don't think there's need for special encouragement. Would it be agreeable if the Mameluk event's startdate would be tweaked to 1450 and perhaps the end date also further away to compensate for that?

Ok, I'll just add 13 years to the event (now 1450 to 1475) and the monarch.

New revolt.txt entries

Will look over it in the afternoon. But looks good so far.:)

Feel free to contribute in any way you want.

Ok, I have checked it through.

I like them very, very much. They are not too many and not too radical.

I am a bit sceptical about the naval manufactory but we can try it out. So if you´re ok with it, those events are in the next version!:)

I'll try to get some more finished before midnight. I was also thinking about this as graphics for EGY: (Save Target As...)

Btw, would you like all the files in a zip file sent to you or should I post it on the board?

While we're at it, lots of plagues for egypt by any name (no taxloss probably, cash instead) - and plenty oppression as long as you keep the burji mamelukes in power.

The entries for revolt.txt should also be added/modified and I would like the Mameluks to be added as a starting nation (one of the 24 shields).

No problem at all. Welcome on board!:)

Great & Thanks... :)
I'll take a short break until a new version for Abe is availible...

Tough luck.;) This time bugfree. Nice event set, you joined Artemis667 in terms of providing me with a bugfree event file upon first sending. :)

I would like to have the entry for EGY in country.csv changed to:
EGY;DarkGreen;LightOrange;muslim;MUS;MUS;MUS;MUS;8;4;4;8;5;8;5;7;0;Egypt
and the entry for MAM to:
MAM;LightOrange;DarkGray;muslim;MUS;MUS;MUS;MUS;8;3;3;7;5;8;4;7;0;X

I would also appreciate if you replaced the old entries with this:
MAM = {
date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1419 }
expirydate = { day = 31 month = december year = 1820 }
minimum = { 742 743 744 }
extra = { 741 745 746 747 }
capital = 744
group = muslim
}
EGY = {
date = { day = 1 month = january year = 1519 }
expirydate = { day = 31 month = december year = 1820 }
minimum = { 745 746 747 }
extra = { 741 742 743 744 }
capital = 746
group = muslim
}
in revolt.txt

I'll try to keep that as a standard... :)
