Activation problem

I have a problem with the activation of EIC. While installing the game I had no internet connection and so activation did not succeed. Then I tried to start the game, after having activated Internet connection. Activation window appeared and I did insert my email address and the activation code written on the handbook. Still activation does not succeed and I start the game.

Is there a possibility to activate EIC without connecting to the internet?

i am having a similar problem, when i type in my email and key code to activate the game all it keeps saying is " There was a problem activating East India Company:" and thats it. What am i doing wrong?
