Adaniya Bronze Age Succession Campaign

The Kingdom of Adaniya was small, yet it's King had ambitions.

Campaigns against the heathens Tarsa and Sadiya were successfully won; Tarsos was annexed entirely, while half of Sadiya was taken and the other half forced into vassalage.

After recovering the men lost during the conquest, a long and drawn-out war against Malluma, Sawayria and Sikagiya was fought. Many losses were incurred, but in the end we prevailed.

Soon after, Copper was imported from the far-away lands of the Tigris and Euphrates and the island of Copper. Combined with our tin, we created a new alloy, Bronze, which is very useful for tools of agriculture and war.

After recovering from the war and colonising territories with no owner, we conquered Arusnia, the rivals to our south. Later on, the first ports were built and more land claimed for our king.

We then pushed into the southern coast of the Kizzuwatnan Sea, claiming the territory from heretics.

We now knew what Adaniya excelled at most: Warfare.

While remaining true to our heart, not all wars are led with swords, and we colonised even more land. In his age, th king wanted to die in peace.

More than an AAR this is a test run. But I will try to write down what happened asap

The Adinaya kingdom were all things considered a new kingdom in 865, they had only recently won against their rivals the ebalites to become the dominant power in upper levant. The kingdom were unstable and decentralised. Revolts and civil wars had plagued it's history so far and recently many vassals had been given more autonomy to ease ruling over them.

Satta-Kiyazi were only seen as mediocre by his ascention, never having shown any aptitude as a prince. The people at the time had no clue the prince would be hellbent on conquest.

The first thing the new sovereign did was marry to make sure his bloodline dident stop with him.

The eblaites were a sizeable minority and had certain rights other minorities lacked to make sure it would be easier to rule their regions.

A southern war was declared almost as soon as Satta-Kiyazi ascended even when a civil war was still ungoing, the young king was probably eager to prove himself.

the civil war was dealt with swiftly so other campaigns could be focused on.

No mercy to traitors.

While presently a dream preperations were done for a imperial cult honoring the kings as gods.

The southern war finished with major gains.

The warmongering king continued with his conquest.

A war with the mighty phonecians were also carried out to make sure no rivals could threaten Satta-Kiyazi and his kingdom on the levant.

Recent advancements in writing had lead to civilization developing rapidly across the kingdom.

Phonecia would lose much of their territories in the peace settlement. Hence forth they would never threaten Adaniya again.

Many smaller independent settlements in the region refused to see Satta-Kiyazi as their king and had to be brought under the crown by force.

Having subjugated many rivals Satta-Kiyazi proclaimed the start of the kingdom of the mitanni.

A policy of religious conversion was decided upon since with the recent conquests the cannanite faith were adhered to by almost half the people living in the kingdom of Mitanni.

A small northern campaign was carried out to secure borderlands against Mari.

Much like the policy of religious conversion a similar policy for cultural conversion was adopted, the hope was that provinces would become more loyal if they shared similar cultures.

Minor expansion in both directions.

Many provinces tired of Satta-Kiyazis constant wars and rebelled against his rule.

One by one they were reabsorbed.

The enemies would be many and just holding the kingdom together was a herculean task.

Althought the uprisings were more than a annoyance they never managed to succed and Satta-Kiyazi would reassert his authority.

Fuck this event this was the 4th time it happened, had near constant rebellions so couldent disband troops and i got this constantly so my stability never recovered hence more rebellions.

By the late 880s the rebellions started happening less frequently.

So a campiagn against phonecia was carried out again just to make sure no power from the south could threaten the mitanni.

The phonecians lost large parts of their heartland something that would be hard to recover from.

7 years of rebellions later and a simular plan was carried out to the west first against the small kingdom of Sarranduwa.

And then a larger campaign against the kingdom of Asita.

Some mountain regions would be all that was gained from the Asitian war as internal issues plagued the country while the war was ongoing.

With a open revolt in the south and many more coming it was best to not overextent the Mitanni kingdom.

Not long after Satta-Kiyazi died and his 33 year old son took over. Long live the king.

The conversion policies employed by Satta-Kiyazi had been largely successfull as kizzuni culture went from 760 pops to 1188. Eblaite went from 253 to 477 from conquest. The new king will likely have to make a choice between slow assimilation and hard times initially or embracing more cultures to increase his stability.

When my turn started, my ruler faced many revolts. This, he decided to build theaters and temples to placate all inhabitants of recently conquered territories. Over time, less people started to revolt and more assimilated to our rule. This allowed the expansion of the core homeprovinces, increasing the readiness for joining the army and the amount of reserachers who discover new stuff all year round. No expansion took place because internal management was the focus.
At the end of my ruler's reign, he enacted two new laws: one, that would reduce the wage the state had to pay its governors, and the other would be the founding block for a professional army, slowly drifting away from seasonal campaigns.

Mitanni was in a mess. On the surface we were one of the most powerful nations in the known World but our stability was low and many of our provinces were going to revolt:

We have integrated the Eblaite people but all other non integrated cultures are very unhappy, with many of them suffering from colonial occupation until the end of times:

I cannot stand rebellions and the loss of output due to unhappy people. For this reason, Mittani is going to break up in client states and we will invest in laws, technologies and buildings to keep our people happy:

In addition to other inventions that have increased the building slots in each city to make room for all the buildings needed. Like:

With this drive, we have achieved a nation with no disloyal provinces and ready to develop other nations under the Mitanni rule. The first nation targeted is Enkomi. Eventually they became our vassals but we lost our first war with them.

The reason being the need to transport our legions and levies to the Enkomi island, a bad decision to assault the Rialonsa fort (see attached picture) as the first disembark location and the unexpected resistance of the Enkomi people with more than 15,000 men.

After loosing many men due to the poor logistics (transport and food) the first war with Enkomi ended with a white peace. Then Enkomi had a revolt that engulfed half of the island. When they emerged victorious, our truce ended and finally Mitanni became the right overlord of the Island, as in many other provinces:

Slowly but steady, we have integrated our client vassals and created the conditions for them to work happy for the Mitanni people (laws, buildings, inventions, etc..). We also have created one of the largest road infrastructures of the World:

Wasn't for our death, our next objective was the construction of a wonder to increase even more the happiness of our people and the risky but exciting vassalization of the Megido's lands in Asqyalôn, Hebron, Jaffa, DOR, Samaria, Eprayim, Yeru-Shalem and Gaza:

After 42 years, our people has grown happier and our nation is more powerful than before. Only the Akkadian Empire and Mari may pose a threat but they do not seem concerned with the lands of the open sea. Our dominance of all the peoples around the sea will be settled when we vassalize the Kemetic people of Henen-Nesut, because Arkadia and Velke are no match for our armies.

Satta-kiyazi a scion of the kings of old inheirited a mittani kingdom that while prosperous and rich had largely stagnated and even lost minor lands since the time of his great grandfather. Many local lords ruled almost independently while only being nominal vassals of the kingdom.

The phonecians had even dared to attack and claim a revolting province as their own.

While the lords of the southern anatolian coast had borken off entirely.

A war with the kingdom of asita was decided upon to secure glory for our kingdom and kin.

While at the same time reclaiming old mitanni lands from the phonecians.

Our many subjects put a huge strain on the political capital of our ruler.

The nomads of hermesh former vassals of the mitanni were revoked of their status and reincorperated as a proper province at the same time.

The phonecians lost slightly more than just the province they stole as a way to punish them.

While the asitan kingdom lost a third of it's lands.

These moves would make the kingdom of the Mitanni one of the truly grat powers of it's age.

Now only one runaway province remained.

The eastern nomads were defeated.

And the anatolian traitors.

Huge building projects were started to supply our heartland with more food to supply our evergrowing population.

Ebla our once mightiest foe had survived as a city state on our border for too long, best to integrate them fully into the country.

Mari while not not as mighty as the Mitanni kingdom was still stong in it's own right so it was best to cut them down before they dare to try the reverse.

While only unimportant border regions woudl be taken it would help protect our heartland on the coast from any future wars or raids.

Nations that now were encircled by us were taken care of before they became a threat.

While the asitan kindonm would be invaded to the west.

Our king were not blessed by any sons but he had 2 daughters so rather than letting the kingly line fall he decided to let daughters inheirit.

The conquest of the minor nations in syria was at this point done.

From 972 onwards a time of gret upheaval started in the Mitanni kingdom.

Where slowly the kingdom strated to break apart province by province.

Disregarding these issues the asitian kingdom was annexed, placing further strain on keeping the country loyal.

The astian country was on their way to building a pyramid somethign we were happy to inherit.

This peace would not last for long.

The former culture of the asitan kingdom were integrated into the administration to help govern those lands.

the worlds first metropolis were formed in the moutains in southern anatolia.

Being experts at putting down rebellions and being the first line of offense has lead to very advanced siege warfare by our professional legion.

The loyalty of our provinces just became worse and worse.

The mari kingdom sensed weakness and attacked in 987.

While only minor gains would be taken it was more as a fuck you to Mari than actually wanting the land, it could very well be argued it was a bad choice and it would be better to stabalize what allready was inside the kingdoms borders.

To pretty up the borders we couldent have countries that existed inside our borders.

After a 30 year old reign known for conquest and bloodshed king Satta-kiyazi died and his daugher took over.

While the stability of the country could be better especially since some stability was lost on succession the time of troubles were atleast starting to come to an end.

Just my pet project of stacking diplo rep to help lower ae and increasing integration speed, went from +3 to +13 in 30 years.
