Namely...
- Liechtenstein (has existed as a country since 1806 - within EU4's time period)
- San Marino (has existed as a country since 301 - within EU4's time period)
- Andorra (has existed as a country since 1236 - within EU4's time period)
- Monaco (has existed as a country since 1297 - within EU4's time period)
- Vatican City (obviously it would just be the province that is added since the Papal State exists in this time period)

I cant really see any reason why these shouldn't be added since all of them fall within the games time period.

...please? :)

Countersuggestion:

Make a mod to demonstrate that the resulting provinces would be tolerable from a UI perspective.

I'd really love more small nations to toy around with, but the problem is their provinces are just too small to be playable/clickable.

Except the vatican city it's OK

Imagine... A World Conquest as San Marino...

San marino and andorra appears in VeF and is an interesting little depth, they have some quite OP ideas though, but i think those are due to their teeny tiny size

They do have some of the highest wealth per capita...
And you get 15 basetax, and you get 15 basetax, EVERYONE GETS 15 BASETAX!!!!

San Marino, Monaco and Andorra are OK, since they acutally did stuff in history. But Liechtenstein is far too late in the game and Vatican City is already here, but in super duper size.

They have to be clickable...

Having very small province, barely clickable, just for the sake of History or "accuracy" will destroy a lot of the game, since you will have to micro-micro manage provinces...

And by adding those, we will eventually have to add several others that were in some way independent at the time, but vassals to major nations...

In the end, we will have 200 OPMs in Europe...

Plus, I believe that it will bring a LOT of requests for more nations...

For example, Portugal had "colonies" in India, like Goa, Damão and Díu (Portuguese names for them). But they were not administrated by Portugal, but by a Vice-Roy. Meaning that now, European colonies in India should be considered colonial nations for themselves...

Sorry if I went far away from topic, but short answer is no, or yes, but with extreme caution with the size of provinces...

PS: If Andorra was playable, I would love to play them, it would be an awesome challenge, landlocked between Aragon, Castille and France, I love it :D

In the HRE there existed about 200 independent states at the same time. Takining the time-axe we will probably habe about 300 only in there. I don't think thats fun any more. And so much provinces there would propably mess totally with the balance.

I think people will be satisfied with historically relevant (Lucca etc) and currently surviving (Monaco etc) microstates, which won't even equal to 10 or so states I guess. Not a big deal right?

I can't really see any reason why these should be added since none of them actually did things within the game's time period.

Achievements. Fun. Fun achievements. Challenges.

Other than a Vatican one I see little reason. I would absolutely adore if you could conquer Latinum/Rome without catapulting the Pope into some northern archbishopric. I hate it when that happens. It's what usually keeps me from playing in/around Italy.

Then hunt him down and kill him dead. He usually doesn't resurrect twice.

I appreciate you use the search function but a two year old thread doesn't need a new post in it ;). Feel free to make a new thread instead.
