//////// SOLVED = problem was I created a temporary directory within /db. Any additional directory apparently crashes AoD, I think it was allowed in Doomsday.
I was trying to merge leaders of several countries into a single one (stealing leaders from other nations). Here's what I did:
1/ Copy and paste leader lines, from eg bolivia.csv to bottom of colombia.csv
2/ Change nationality from BOL to COL
3/ Rename leader_id to a new ID in Colombia's range (ie. 180047 and up)
As soon as I've made this change, the game CTD's on "reading scenario file".
That's the first problem, which I have no clue why it happens. The total number of leaders I added made the file 17 kb which is less than many other majors (20 kb+). Is there something I'm missing?
Then there is a more serious problem:
I then replaced the modified colombia.csv with an original backup (the one that had been used and worked 5 minutes earlier). The game still CTD'd. The only thing to do is to delete the entire directory and reinstall the game. Reinstalling over the game does not get rid of the CTD, even though all leader .csv files are copied from the installer.
What is going on?
No other file was changed, and when the original backed up default file was put back (deleting the modified file) the game should be as out of the box.
Are there any debug commands for AoD?
// apologies for double post thought i could edit
