First of all, I'd like to say that I am a huge fan of city building, especially Cities Skylines, however, I feel some things need to be seriously addressed by Paradox. So here we go!!!

So I have to say that this game is coming along quite well, and I do love the game. I know it started off rough but for me I just sat back & waited for it to release its potential over time, and so far this game has not failed. It's not a perfect game, but it's a game capable of evolving to greatness over time. With that being said, I think simple little fixes could make a huge difference in the game's quality. The Cims need a more interactive personality, especially with regard to empathy. Right now, Cims are basically cold-hearted. That includes city services as well. A simple change in code to have multiple police, fire department, and ambulances respond to an accident or crime scene, or other future disasters, and use police officers and the fire department as first responders along with the Ambulance. The police showing up to some sicknesses.... As stated in my review, the Police controlling traffic by pulling over Cims who break the law(and these Cims really do break the law.. That is an understatement), arresting Cims, where tickets generate city income, would make a huge difference. 1 Fire truck to a building fire scene is unacceptable. All three departments need to be used in a coordinated way.....

What I really don't like is how an injured Cim can be lying on the ground or in the streets after a major accident, and vehicles will drive over them, and other Cims will walk right over to them.... The Police will literally clear the accident and drive off, just as the fire department, leaving the injured Cim, who is waiting on an Ambulance to arrive. The whole scene is cleared and the poor cim is left in the street or side of the road until an ambulance arrives... That is way too cold hearred in my opinion. The Cims do not interact with each other, even though they may exercise together, sit in the park, eat at a restaurant, or are traveling as a family...... Life by you should not have been cancelled. It should have been a core function of Cities: Skylines 2. I mean, the commercial for the game before it was cancelled showed a map identical to Cities: Skylines, and even back then I was scratching my head as to why it was going to be two separate games with identical maps and building options on the large maps.....

If anyone remembers Sim City Societies, that flopped because of the extremely small maps... That game was animated, entertaining, and straight hilarious. The individual behaviors, such as Sims getting drunk, the way cops arrested people, or set up stings for bars that are closing in the middle of the night to arrest drunk Sims that try to drive... The vigilantes, religious personalities, animated criminals and arsonists, the epidemics, hurricanes, etc., plus you had repair men that were dispatched to handle any damage, debt collectors, and so much more... That game would have been the most epic Sim game if only it had bigger maps back then.... What I don't get is why Simcity or Cities:-Skylines did not try to incorporate elements of Sim City Society in their games. SimCity was a bit more animated than Cities: Skylines, but it still fell short....

City building gamers have been dreaming of the day when a Sims/Cims & SimCity/Cities Skylines are fused together, where not only can we build entire cities, we can build our individual homes and businesses from scratch and have our Cims dwell in those homes, etc..... Life by You, infused into Cities: Skylines, with elements and more of Sim City Societies, would give the game so much more personality. Also, the vehicle accidents have to be fixed because they just don't make sense. Rather than being just random, make it more realistic because Cims run into each other often, and nothing happens. Then there is the issue of the fact that accidents can cause all lanes on the road or highway to be closed and traffic is at a stand-still, rendering it impossib.le for first responders to get to the accident scene, resulting in the accident simulation just disappearing to clear traffic.... Like I said, one police car showing up to a major multi-vehicle accident and the fire department only responding if the vehicle is on fire, is unacceptable. Another issue is how tornadoes and storms seem to have no effect on Cims, Boats, trains, or airplanes. A tornado can come through, and cims will just walk through it, trains and ships will just carry on unfazed.. It will damage buildings but has little to no effect on vehicles driving directly into the storm, except at random times.. Then you have the issue where Cims will walk extremely long distances including from one side of the map to the other side, walking down railroads and in mass on the sidewalks where they become a nuisance due to them causing traffic jams. With regards to the emergency shelters & alerts, placing them in the game results in constant mass hysteria and paranoia where cims are constantly evacuating and running to get to the shelter, even where there is no threat or the threat is far away from them. There is also times where one set of cims are running to the shelter while another set of Cims is leaving out of the shelter.....They will literally run from one side of the map to the other side to try to get to the shelter. Cims should complain or refuse to travel long distances unless it's by their own vehicle or public transportation, because all of this walking and mass hysteria leads to lack of employment, getting fired, etc.... Then, when I remove the shelters, the mass hysteria stops...

Bottom line, Cities Skylines has to address the personality & animations of the game. It should be a top priority, in my opinion
I love this game and have been in love with city building since the first game came out in the late 80's during my pre-teens( I am 48 now). Before city building, I used to draw entire cities and then create them in my grandmothers backyard using legos, popsickle sticks, christmas/holiday lights, and hot-wheels...

Hopefully, Paradox reads this and my other reviews and suggestions & take heed to these elements that need improving

Shalom,
