In my opinion the mechanic we currently have in the game is completely illogical. Because to have possibility to adopt children your culture must have "Noble Adoption Tradition", gladly there is a game rule that allows any character of any culture to adopt children, but this is quite unrealistic too because each human has different personality, by saying that i want to say that the game should allow all of the characters to adopt the children. But it should have some downsides such as : If you are playing as paranoid craven cynical monster adoption must give you a lot of stress. But if you have kind traits such as compassionate, trusting and others you should have no downsides from adopting.

This way i think it will be more realistic and pleasant to use adoption in CK3

This is a game about feudalism. Your barons are under no obligation to pledge themselves to your adopted son. Indeed, after your death, the most realistic outcome in that scenario is that your vassals pledge themselves to your closest blood relative and then your adoptive son dies.

Bloodlines matter.

Agree. This is not the Roman Empire where an adopted son is somehow also considered of the same blood as their adoptive father. Also about personalities well there is a personality trait that allows adoption too.

It is if you're character is infertile, gay or compassionate you can also adopt. You can change it in the game rule setting to always be able to adopt. There are even events to adopt children.

From the wiki, scratching off the sources you have mentioned-

Adoption is available to rulers who are unmarried or in a marriage that brings children into their house and allows them to adopt a child character into their House. It requires one of the following:

  • 24px-Trait_compassionate.png
    Compassionate trait
  • No child and low
    24px-Fertility_positive.png
    Fertility
  • Unmarried and Sexuality is Homosexual male.pngHomosexual female.png Homosexual or Asexual.png Asexual
  • Culture has the Noble Adoption tradition
  • Spouse has the same sex and there is no opposite gender Consort or Concubine
  • Adoption game rule is set to Always Allowed

Not mentioned here is the event-driven adoption of someone who is a hostage, or the court event, and so on.
