I'm sorry for posting this mod-related stuff here, but I believe this way it will get more attention than if posted in mod subforum.
To prepare myself for FTG I decided to start a campaign as England. Everything was fine in the beginning, I occupied all of what remained of France and got the Treaty of Troyes, annexing the northern France.
But later one bad thing started to happen - Dauphine turned into France and began to terrorize me every 5 years, after the the truce expires. The problem is that he has destroyed Burgundy and annexed Provence, and now (it's around 1452) has 80k+ troops (around 100k, I believe), while I have around 45: 20 on Scottish border and the rest in France. My support limit is 46, and I find it very difficult to field large standing army, as it makes my inflation to skyrocket (I have 10% already), let alone to start the offensive.
Speaking of alliances, I have little options. Now I have England+Ireland+Brabant (OPM already)+Luxembourg vs. France+Brittany+Scotland+Burgundy (OPM, revolted in Flandern), and I am completely outnumbered. Spain is friend to Portugal, and Austria is unlikely to join my alliance too.
I already had to secede Gascogne and Orleans in two previous wars, once managed to get White peace (by some pure luck), and I'm still waiting for the next war, feeling that I'm trying to defend some forlorn cause.
The question is: are there any efficient moves that I can make to turn the situation? I don't want to lose Normandy, but it requires so much money to defend, the money that could have been invested in economics. It looks now that I have to either concentrate on dismantling France or just leave the continent, as it hardly will be possible to coexist there peacefully.
I'm aware of that EP is tough mod, which I try for the first time, but it's interesting to hear an advice from veterans here. Btw, I enjoy EP experience so far, AI is pressing me. I hope it will be adapted for FTG one day.
