As it seems most people on this forum are aware, Spiritualists are underpowered, thanks to the fact that they either need to outlaw robots, effectively cutting down their population growth and making them weak, or take a influence hit from one of your governing factions. Rather than just complain about it, I've come up with a simple idea for a mod that could fix the probblem. The thing is, I'm not the most experianced Stellaris player, and I could use some advice on how to keep the mod balanced.

The idea is to add an edict, available only to spiritualists who have outlawed robots, which buffs pop growth at the expense of slightly higher pop food upkeep. The devil is in the details. I'm not sure how much influence the edict should cost, how much pop growth should be buffed, and how mich it should impact food upkeep. Also, while I have some ideas for a name and description for the edict, any ideas in that category are welcome as well.

Something to bear in mind:
Building robots does have it's costs, so the edict will still provide less pop growth than building robots, but given that you won't need to spend as much to grow your pops, it should be balanced.

sounds like a beefed up version of nutritional plenitude(which is now an edict for some reason) it does sound interesting if a bit impractical. Perhaps make it an insane pop growth bonus(50% perhaps) in exchange for it costing unity per pop, at the moment it is impossible to run a unity negative and since there is no deficit penalty that may be an issue. i don't think you would have to worry about that though, since spiritualists always end up swimming in unity.
the main issue i can see with all of this is that pop growth buffs=micro and lag so unless you are playing multiplayer they may not be advisable, simply for the sake of your sanity
