Well, since my last thread I had in here I've been thinking if I should actually buy Victoria, but Victoria II looks so good.

But anyways if I do end up buying Victoria I'll need some advice.

We all did. Well, maybe not ALL of us. But most of us did. Well, maybe not MOST of us, but I'll bet some of us did. Well, maybe not SOME of us, but I know I sure did.:p

no shame in that. we all did(i still do).

problem is, after reading all those Vicky 2's DDs, it's hard to look back at Vicky. it still is a great game. i am playing it these days to clam down my excitement. IT WORKS.

I think it would be a good idea to buy Vicky (w/ Rev) and play around with it a bit while V2 doesn't come out. A lot of mechanics will be the same so you'll be more familiar with them when getting V2. Also, playing V1 is interesting because you'll be able to see what has changed between V1 and V2, and if you like some feature in V1 that ends up not being in V2, you'll probably be able to mod it in in V2.

€19.95 for Vicky + revolutions, something like €14.95 + €9.95 if you'd get them separate. I'm still a bit on the edge here whether I should get Revolutions anymore. Bought V1 years ago, just got back to trying it a bit, but now i'm mainly playing to be able to stand the wait for V2 :p From what i've read Revolutions is great, it's just that V2 is so close...

what is €19.95 in Canadian dollars?

...

Yeah, I have the same worries about buying Victoria, plus Revolutions. Like you said, Victoria II is really close, about 5-6 months away, so not very much time to play Victoria. :p Oh well, it's worth a try.

Gotta have something to do till Viky 2 comes out! :D

Besides, supporting Paradox with a purchase is a good thing.

And in addition to that, if Vicky Rev is any indication, the learning curve on Vicky 2 is likely to be a learning cliff! Having got the handle with Vicky Rev (or Complete, or however they are packaging it at GoG) is a wise move if you want to be able to have maximum fun with Vicky 2 as soon as it comes out.

BTW, what is the estimated release date?

Q3, far as I know.

Victoria 1 isn't that hard to learn. But I loved the game.
