I can see Dan Cooks' AAR now...

I played...
It crashed...
I shot my computer!

Bad luck with the corruption, happens to me sometimes too. Don't know of anything that can be done except to fervently pray it doesn't happen again. Also, if you do shoot your computer, be sure to target the actual computer, not the screen.

Dear Dan Cook

Well, to your crash....

try to open a former file of that game(I hope you looked in your savegames before), and open the "crash file"(savegame files end with .eug); now on top of file there are the playable nations, now copy the one you play with(or all as you like) into the "crash file"
maby it works

excuse my english

I've had this bug a gajillion times myself, here's he solution:
1) take saved games folder
2) empty into backup folder on desktop.
3) copy latest uncorrupted game file back into the game
4) make as much free space on the hard drive as possible
5) start playing.
I did that, and never had a crash since. Some of the stages may be unnescessary, but clearing the saved game folder definitely seems important.
I hope it works for you!
