Did the AI change wildly in the Persia patch? I haven't managed to have any allied stacks attach to my superior generals (on terrain that is below required supply limit for the combined group) save vassals and then only irregularly. Does anyone know why this might be? Is it a prestige thing perhaps??
Even with vassals I needed to try to predict where they'd go as they don't seem to understand the "support" setting, making Lithuania almost completely unknown variable. Is it perhaps tat the AI now has a higher willingness to wander about catching attrition than before? As that's certainly not helped my trying to have stacks attach to me.
Actually, I've also had ally armies, which would absolutely swing the war, wandering aimlessly through entire wars. In their defence these have often been Spain whose core states are quite far from the PLC (they do own Naples) so perhaps that's involved but I don't see rebels or anything that might draw them home or decide to just stand in the middle of the HRE. Also had Austria and Pomerania with large armies doing nothing miles away from the front, and they have a real reason to be as concerned by Ottos as I am.
More worryingly, and what I see as the most potentially broken thing with the enemy AI at present, is I've twice had enemy stacks run in a straight line across four or five tiles (into areas they had no vision of, hadn't been to, and which have no strategic worth) directly at recuperating empty unit stacks I'd hidden away to recover manpower. These are most often composed of the empty units I have Shift-Consolidate from a series of battles, so aren't coming from one place which an extremely lucky human player might be able to guess.
I'm handling all this weirdness, but on VH it's a real trial that has me close to rolling back to less odd behaviour. Please let me know if you think I'm unlucky or 0/0/0 or there is actually something to my gripes.
