I'm in a war of independence as Canada. I'm against Britain and the Ottomans, but have the US, Russia, and France on my side. But I can't win the goddamn war, because the AI does not seem to understand how to win. The US keeps sending its entire army overseas save a few defenders against naval invasions, instead of helping out in Newfoundland (where all of our war goals are!). The French keep trying to do naval invasions in the Raj (despite them being entirely uninvolved in war goals). The Russians actually do send some help to Newfoundland (where, again, all our war goals are), but it's not enough compared to the hordes of Raj soldiers.
The AI just does not seem to understand which fronts are important or not, or even what goals it is trying to accomplish. It will happily let the opposing side win all its goals while it bashes its head against hopeless and/or useless walls. It's as if it just tries to balance out front numbers with no actual strategy involved whatsoever.
