All of a sudden the game starts freezing

Hello! I have been playin the game for three months now, and I haven't encountered any problems. However, today the game has frozen four times while trying to start it. Every time it freezes when I try to load a game at the "Reading scenario" stage.

Any help with that will be greatly appreciated.

I wouls like to point out that due to various bugs anf glitches, I have been able to finish only 1 (one) of my last 5 games. It is getting really frustrating, I am beginning to get disappointed with the number of problems this excellent game has

Some system specs would be helpful in diagnosing the problem.

First thing to try is to rename your AVI folder to AVI_back.
 
PIII 533, 256RAM 10GB free HDD, Ati 128 Rage Pro 32MB with relatively bnew drivers. Freeze started happening on the second day with 1.04. On the first day, Germany didn't attack anyone thoroughout the game, so I had to restart
 
How about renaming the AVI folder.
 
Did that. It is now called avi_back. I can start new games, but I can't load any saves from my last game. I can load the one in which Germany doesn't attack anyone, but I don't need that one.

See, I would start a new game, if I were sure I would be able to finish it, but I am really sick of starting new games and having them crash or freeze or get a glitch 4 times in a row.
 
So the game you are trying to load was started under 1.03b?

It could be suffering from the expanding save game bug.
There is a fix posted for that in a sticky thread in the General discussion forum.

This problem should be solved with 1.04, however it will not retro activly fix the game started under 1.03b.
 
I am a little confussed since in your first post you said you had no problem before.

The only thing I can suggest is trying a new game, that way you can see if the turning off the bink player helps with your crashes as well.
 
Hey. Yeah I agree. The whole sequence of posts might be a little bit confusing. Here is what I menat from the beginning:

With 1.03b I had problems such as crashes to desktop which could be avoided by restarting an earlier save
With 1.04 I have problems suchs as Germany not DOW-ing on anyone, and the inability to laod any saves. I will try a new game and hopefully this time it will work
