I am playing the Grand Campaign as Croatia. I Created an alliance with Bosnia, then later Invited Venice to the alliance who agreed. According to the manual, I should be the "leader" of this alliance, yet the game is reporting mixed results...
If I open my diplomacy options and leave my mouse over the greyed "Leave Alliance" option, it pops up with the following text:
"We do not have a Military Alliance with Venice. To leave your current Military Alliance, select Croatia (the leader of the alliance) then 'Leave Alliance'..."
The problem is I got into a war with Ragusa with my allies, and I seiged their capitol province, captured it under my flag, then wanted to offer peace. When I offer peace, at the top it says I am offering a "separate peace" as if I'm doing this without my allies... and sure enough, if I negotiate a peace, my allies are still at war. So I reloaded and left it at war, and later Venice negotiated a peace which affected all of us as if Venice was the leader! Yeah I'm using the latest patch...
Oh and I still have the power to invite other nations into this alliance... wierd, huh?
