As I have seen in the stream today... is there a cap on how many allies you can have? It doesn't seem so.
But I think there should be one, otherwise it might be exploited in MP.

On federations, I'd like to see that there would be some other "succession laws" than the simple rotation like i.e.:
- all federation members vote the president democratically (every five years?)
- the president will always be the strongest at the time (every five years?) to choose a president
- etc

Define exploited? I think limiting the number of allies one Empire can have is an arbitrary mechanic that limits my free expression.

Yes MP usually degenerates into 2 massive alliances with a few neutrals, but it seems that real life does the same thing. Not everyone has a problem with that, for those that do HOUSE RULES.

I'd like this for single player just because I might want to form a federation in some play thru and being beholden to the AI stinks. I think rotating should be the default and members would have to vote in a new form of leadership choice ONLY after the federation is formed.
