I have a question regarding alliances. I was playing as Sweden and got invited by France to join their alliance with Lorraine and some others. After a while Spain declared war on France and as a loyal friend I declared war on Spain. However I didn't participate in the war except thinking happy thoughts for France. When the war ended I somehow found myself still at war with Spain and they won't make peace with me. What is going on? Shouldn't the war have ended with Frances peace treaty? It did for the other participants in the war.

Did you do a separate peace with a possible ally of Spains ?
If you do, your not considered to be in the same war any more.

That must be it. I made a separate peace with Scotland since they were trying to invade. That answers my question. Many thanks.

Also remember, when you do a separate peace, the alliance leader gets a temporary CB against you ...
