See topic, I can't see a good reason why this decision should be restricted to Sunnis only. If you manage to form Rum as a Shia state you should still be able to move the capital.

and city of worlds desire mission should be available for any muslim country which borders constantinople(hold by christians)

Agree, and generally speaking I would be all for many unique missions to be decoupled from their tag restrictions and given more open-ended requirements, but that's a rather larger request :)

absolutely no. why should a random muslim have any legitimacy or claim on constantinople? the mission could be extended to all the beyliks but that's it.

Then it should be disallowed for all Muslims, not just those that aren't Sunnis.

The decision is currently open to either Ottomans or Rum, but only if their religion is Sunni. Due to the way that the event is coded, I believe that this is an oversight and that the religion restriction should be "Muslim" rather than "Sunni".

why should Ottomans have any legitimacy or claim on constantinople? can u answer please
Because it is historical and actually happened. Was a major place of turmoil, at that time, since Constantinople was the last bastion of the old roman Empire and the Ottomans, or could be seen any Muslim nation, takes it and was another continuing act of the Christians vs the Muslims. Should be an event of any Muslim faith who get it first, even with how likely that is to happen.

Also, there is the Hadith from the Prophet Muhammad;

“Verily you shall conquer Constantinople. What a wonderful leader will he be, and what a wonderful army will that army be!”

Thus, every Muslim ruler seeked out to conquer Constantinople. Caliphs tried several times but all of them ultimately failed. It wouldn't be surprising, if any other Muslim ruler from any sect or school wanted to conquer it and make the city his capital.

Indeed. Also doing so would usher in one of the omens of the apocalypse but nobody then or now tends to heed that part :p
(This isn't a counter-argument, just a piece of trivia I find amusing)

Will change this decision to Muslim but keep other requirements (so still just Ottomans and Rum).

Actually millenarianism was somewhat popular at the start of the eu era. Especially in the greater Persian region. :)
That was part of the appeal of our two feudal theocracies in that region.
Don’t know if they paid any specific attention to the fall of Constantinople though.
