Used to be able to hold left-click and move the dynasty tree around in CK2. It makes it really awkward to navigate large family trees without this option.

Heavens yes. It is another curious omission.

Agreed. Using the middle mouse button to move the family tree is awkward and really makes no sense. It should scroll either with edge scrolling (it could probably be tied to your setting for edge scrolling the map) or by left click and drag.

I'm on a laptop, so i don't have a mouse wheel or a middle mouse button. Click & drag has always worked fine in CK2 (and in various genealogy packages, coincidentally enough); I literally can't use the dynasty tree in CK3.

THIS! Please enable moving around with arrow keys/wasd, like on the main map, or left/right mouse click, this is completely unintuitive. I didn't even know i could move with the middle mouse click, I was using zoom in/out to move around, felt like I am in a straight jacket (again) trying to point something with my arm, but only able to point with my nose, if you know what I want to say...

Yes, please please please enable scrolling the samw way as implemented for the map. It's not intuitive to have different scrolling behaviour.
It's even worse on a touchpad.; CK2 was bad but it was possible to scroll the tree. Why is it even worse in CK3?
