What is this?
This a German Kaiserreich AAR. I have always wanted to make one and im surprised that no one has made a German Kaiserreich AAR.

What will we expect?
An aggressive Germany, thats all for now. The rest will be seen shortly.

How often will you update?
I will make an update as much as I can until the game is complete

When does the AAR end?
When until certain conquests are met or until the time runs out. I havent decided on the end date between the 1950's or the 1960's.

Beginning will start shortly.
Thank you and enjoy :D

Prologue
“…two more soldiers deserted from the battlefield this morning. At this rate, my company will be at half strength and loses are mounting from the fighting, the lack of supplies, and will of these people… I fought in the Second Franco-German War and elsewhere we were called for the Kaiser. Things could be for the best, but at this cost I have my doubts…”
-Unknown, possible entry from a German soldier in 1943.

“1917 was our last chance. We had to knockout the British and the French before the Americans gave them enough manpower to overwhelm us.” –General von Hutier

The Germans now having secured the Eastern Front, brought many battle hardened Germans to the Western Front to break the stalemate of Trench Warfare. The German commander Erich Ludendorff was aware of the growing American presence in Europe and believed that Germany had a limited amount of time before the Americans turned the current advantage away from Germany. Using innovating tactics from the Eastern Front by German General von Hutier, he unleashed his “Stoβtruppen” (Stormtroops) tactics against the British and the French. The Stoβtruppen successfully caught the British off guard and had them trapped. German heave infantry moved in to destroy the British Expeditionary Force in France. The British rushed in Australian troops to stop the Germans but they were easily crushed due to German artillery strikes and speed of the Stoβtruppen. The BEF was in a pocket and was being destroyed; this was the end of the Entente.

Two more years of fighting in France eventually saw the collapse of the Entente after the capture of Paris in March 1919. Exhausted and defeated, the French surrendered. The British, Italians, and Americans kept on fighting in Italy and in the Middle East. The Germans now re-equipped and rested after securing France sent troops to capture Northern Italy and helped the Ottoman Empire reclaim the Middle East from the British. It was until 1921 when the Entente had enough and accepted Germany’s call for “Peace with Honor”.

Extent of the German Invasion of France before its surrender in 1919.

Although the victor of the Weltkrieg, Germany suffered from plenty of problems. The Weltkrieg had almost bankrupt Germany and many Germans were angry over the war and starving. The Russian Civil War still dragged on until German intervention in 1919 from fear of creating a monster in Russia. Syndicalism was on the rise and threatened the stability of the world. The British, Italians, and the French suffered Revolutions in their countries and cry for open hostiles with Germany for revenge. Germany although was stagnating it had a miracle in 1924, the Chancellor von Tirpitz. Through regulation of the economy, subsidizing food imports, reparations, and selling technology to allies and client states Germany regained her feet on the economy and prospered. During the British Revolution, Tirpitz successfully seized much of the former British Empire colonial territories for economic opportunity. Tirpitz also formed the “Freistaadt Mittelafrika” and the “Allgemeine Ostasiatische Gesellschaft”. Chancellor Tirpitz died in 1930, which brought Germany back into a decline. The next few decades however, changed Germany’s position forever.

Chapter 1: Early Choices

“…when Black Friday hit us, that’s when everything started to fall apart. We had no idea what was going on in the Stadtschloss Palace. Did his majesty even know of what was happening? It is interesting how things are now, but what happened back then?”
-Oskar Bach, Kaiser’s personal staff in 1944

It is a dark and stormy night in Berlin. The rain was torrential to where you could hardly see in front of you, the lighting lit the sky for only a few seconds, and the thunder made the ground shook when nearby. In a tight street corner, a man was running. Wearing a black trench coat, a hat, and a briefcase the man was running. “Halt! There he is! Get him!” a sharp whistle was blown. The man exhausted wanted to stop a catch his breath but he knew it would be over if he stopped. The man breathed heavily, “How did they find me..?” Lightning flashed in the sky and the man heard a noise that sounded most uncomforting. “Dogs!? You have got to be kidding me…” Then a bright light of a flashlight was aimed at the man. The man’s heart skipped a beat when he realized what had happened. He kicked himself up and started running further into the narrow corner. “He is heading into the Lower Plaza! Cut him off!” The man knew he was heading into a trap; he looked for any place to hide. He ran past a building that had a bolted door, which he knew he wouldn’t have been able to kick down. There was an open window in an abandoned building. Running out of options, the man ran towards it and hid in a corner of the 3rd floor. Finally to stop and catch his breath the man laid down to rest.

“You think you could run?”

The man’s hearts jumped and forced the man up again. He turned and saw the officer. The officer had no expression on his face said, “What do you know?” The man said, “Is that really what you are up to? Does this really explain everything?” The officer pointed the gun into the man’s chest, “Is it worth knowing, do you understand it?” The man trembling took a breath and said, “To be honest, I do not believe that this is reason for what happened.” The officer said calmly, “Then why did you break into the source?” The man said, “I had to know. I know you have to kill me, go ahead.” The officer held the gun to head and said, “You might be going to a better place then what is being creating. I envy you...” The officer pulls the trigger and man dies instantly from the bullet in his brain. Before his last breath, the man whispered, “Truth is death but also freedom…”

The German Empire in 1936 was the most powerful entity on the planet. Having won the Weltkrieg in 1921 gave it a huge advantage in economic and military affiars of other nations inside and outside of Mitteleuropa.

GermanyIII-1.jpg

Government of the German Empire was led by the Aristocrat Chancellor von Papen but under the close watch of the Kaiser Wilhelm II. In the Kaiser's Silversternacht Speech, the Kaiser demanded the resignations and instated new ministers to the Minister of Security and Information. He also claimed that Germany needed more responcibility on the world stage to maintain what Germany had accomplished ever since unification in 1871.

GermanyIV-1.jpg

The Kaiser demanded an increase of Industry to boost the failing economy.

GermanyII-1.jpg

The Kaiser urged the nation to advance in the field of agriculture, industry, research, and added that the Navy needs to expand and modernize.

Hmm, a German AAR. Germany is the strongest nation, but risks being involved in wars all over the Globe as once. If Russia joins the Internationale you might be in some trouble, otherwise just make sure the Frenchies don't get a too huge advantage. War in Africa is not so hard, I usually support Mittelsafrika if they want to expand. War in Asia can be pain, especially if you're fighting Japan and the Syndies at once.

nice, germany in kaiserreich is rare.
good luck

Great, this is an excellent German Kaiserreich AAR!

Looking forward for much more! ;)

that german soldier looks strangely homossexual.

“Can we truly do this? Is the text correct?”
“It is correct, it is demanded that we be in these areas at that exact time or our objectives will rein hell upon us.”
“Yes, our key is useless unless if we own the others. We are dwelling into serious business gentlemen. We cannot fail!”
“I fail to understand the importance of being in these locations! I have read the archive and found you have read also... I know that the conclusion is… *Data error detected, recording lost*
*Gunshots* “It was necessary…”
“I understand but warn us before you use him like that, please.”
“I’m afraid not, dissent will not be tolerated in this organization. Either you stand with me and our future or I will have him see you to your demise.”
“Agreed.”
“Good…”
“Now one last question Herr *static*, what can you tell me of Untersuchung Blau?”
“It has begun, no official reports yet. I will contact when it has been found.”
“If that is all, then I believe we are finished here. Goodnight gentlemen.”

Record ended.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Empire, while strong on the surface, internally was a major issue to the Kaiser and his government. At the time, the Commune of France was the Empires most dangerous threat; revanchist syndicates threatened Germany’s security with violent revolution and worse. The German Armed Forces maintained a large movement of troops along the French border. The Reichsheer demanded to the Reichstag that the army must be reequipped and upgraded to gain the tactical and strategic advantage against the Syndicates. The Reichsheer also demanded that the “Siegfried Line” be updated to impede any aggression against France; however the Reichstag would not approve funding of the project because of other devotions of Imperial revenue.

Besides the issue of the French Syndicates, another important debate at this time was the expansion of the Kaiserliche Marine. In 1936, the German Navy was the largest in the world with bases around the globe and large fleet of ships. The debate raged in the Reichstag amongst the politicians and leaders in the military. The Kaiser personally announced to the politicians, “I would rather see a German ship on my horizon that rather seeing a French ship ever!” Most Generals advocated for continuation of the Naval Construction program started in 1934. Politicians on the other hand demanded that this program was unnecessary because of the large fleet that the Kaiserliche Marine already possessed and too many resources could be better used elsewhere to fix the slowing German Economy. The debate led nowhere until the issue was dropped on the Kaiser’s front desk.
GermanV.jpg

The Kaiser signed his signature to approve the continuation of the naval construction program. The Kaiser stated that the need to have the military advantage was crucial to keeping the Commune of France at bay.

The Kaiser knew also to maintain his empire, the youth must be educated to have good jobs and be willing to support the empire. He took great interest in “Verein für Schulereform” by addressing it to his people and scholars by advocating that the teachers should be teaching the roots of German culture by making advances in literature, music, art, and science. The public received the Kaiser’s message well and some political parties in the Reichstag made gains from the Kaisers address on education.

On February 3rd, 1936 the Berlin Stock Market crashed. The failing economy took a nosedive, 15% of total industrial output in Germany was lost and millions of people lost their savings and livelihoods overnight. Many nations that invested in the Stock Exchange suffered greatly as well from the Mitteleuropa nations, Austria, Kingdom of Spain, Denmark, La Plata, Brazil, Qing Empire, and the Ottoman Empire.

The „Auswärtiges Amt“ (Foreign Ministry) have been listening intently in world events in their embassies around the world. In Canada, the King had died and was succeded by Prince Edward. In his radio address and cornation he proclaimed that Candians will work together to beat the Union of Britain by listening to the Elected Privy Councilors.
GermanyVII.jpg

In Russia, the leader Kerensky was assassinated was succeded by a coup de tat by the Russian General, Anton Denikin.

In Africa, Mittelafrika and Portugal went to war over territorial demands.

In Japan, civil unrest forced the Japanese government send in the army and declare martial law in Niigata, Japan. When Prime Minister Inukai Tsuyoshi died in office, Emperor Showa declared that strong democracy must be implimented in Japan to ensure stability in the country. Also in Asia, Korea was granted indepence by Japan’s parlitment and Japan declared that Siberia was where Japan should look for its expansion and exploitation.

The Commune of France during this time was going through a transition of elections, which led to the rise of Commrade Guer In. Which was a relief to many Germans because he was seen as a moderate compared to some of the candidates for a Bolshevik France.
GermanIX.jpg

In May, the Commune of France hosted the 3rd Internationale in Paris. All nations with strong leftist governments were invited to attend. A broad range of topics were discussed at the Internationale, the Syndicalism in South America, Italy, India, Spain, and even the United States.
International.jpg

The French declared that they would violently tare down the German Empire from the top downward. The Kaiser reacted angrily by having members of the FUAD arrested and forced them underground. Although outraged, the Internationale decided that it was not the right time to declare war against the German Empire.

The United States was going through some hard times as well. Unrest gripped the nation from the economic recession impacting most of the world. The Berlin Stock Exchange made matters worse as millions of workers lost their jobs. Many Americans were starting to not believe that their government can help them and turned to more extreme alternatives from Jack Reed of the Syndicates of America to Huey Long of the American First Party. The election of 1936 saw Huey Long rise to power which surprised most of Middle America and the syndicates who refused to believe that Jack Reed had lost.
