So I've been playing this mod since before essos was added and I've never experienced the kind of choppy performance that I'm getting now. I've noticed this atfer upgrading my game from the version where essos was added but only went as far as Qarth and I installed the new update like a week ago and after about 5 minutes the game just becomes very laggy, like I have to pause the game if i want to click on anything and if I have music playing in itunes or something in the background, it also becomes choppy and distorted. Is this just simply because my pc cannot cope with the requirements of the mod now that its been expanded or is there some other reason for it? Other than that this is a great mod

Distinctly possible that, yes, your PC is having issues coping with the size of the mod (though impossible to say without knowing anything about your system). Also if you happen to be using the most recent beta patch of CKII, it seems to be causing problems for nearly everyone using it.
But my PC can't handle GoT if I have basically anything running in the background (memory is the area that its increased scope tends to hit pretty hard), and have to turn/leave off as many programs as I can in order to play it comfortably.

You can try the westeros only mod if you dont mind getting rid of essos its really fast
The latest beta patch has people mentioning choppy preformance, I myself have experienced this.
