I may be the only one here who bought the game from Amazon, but will they ever be getting the patch? I'd never heard of GamersGate before so I just went with Amazon and I'm wondering if that was a mistake.

Did you get a serial number? Try putting that onto GG. Otherwise, you can always subscribe to the beta system as a workaround until the devs sort out Amazon and patches.
Limith: Are you suggesting that you can transfer games bought elsewhere to your GamersGate account by inputting your registration key? I had wondered if this was possible. Is there a way to do it?
Well, some services I used have it available. I never bought a Paradox game not from GG though (unless it was boxed), so I wouldn't know. I know some Paradox games allow you to use your activation key on Gamersgate (go to digital copy) but that is only for the boxed version. MartinBG/AC/Fernando/another dev should be able to help more. I'm only a modder.
I think I found the field you've mentioned - there is a page on GG called "Digital Copy" that allows you to "SAVE A DIGITAL COPY." The page is barren of information with the exception of one sentence: "Submit the code to store your game," with an entry field below labeled "Code."
That's all very cryptic. I tried the keys for my games (which I purchased on Steam), but it doesn't seem to work (probably because I purchased on Steam). It may work for Amazon keys, though, so it might be worth it for you to give it a shot, tadow.

There have been posted links around to 1.01 patch on 3rd party sites.

It should be compatible with yous Amazon copy of the game. Note that 1.00 saves are not compatible with 1.01 patch and that you have to install 1.01 hot-fix (check the stickied thread) too in case you use non-English language to palay.
Downloaded patch from site, updated game to 1.01, launched game, seems good to go, haven't played since updated.
