HOI2 1.3a Germany late war

Tried landing troops in Newfoundland, my vessels would sail to the coast line and surrounding waters then immediately sail back to Base without launching troops to attack

Same happened in Andaman Islands off the coast of Siam, The British have made this pathetic island their capital and I cannot land on the beaches. (I could try an airborne assault but that's not the point)

The province of Bissau (owned by the Americans) in West Africa is untouchable by land.. I did manage to take it by an attack from the sea but a land based invasion is not working. It has land connections to Tambacoundra and Conakry.

Also, this is not as important but the Calansho Sand Sea in the Sahara Desert is also devoid of land connections. It's controlled by the British. (It's not a Key province so when I annex them it will be mine). Just thought I'd mention it anyway

Are these bugs in DD? These are small bugs but so irritating and tarnish an otherwise perfect 'way of life'.

I can, however, sail to the surrounding waters and 'unload' my troops to capture the territory, it's the Automatic Amphibian Assault that is buggy.
 
Amphibious Assualts

I suspect that the issue is the way you have set the amphib assualt order. I must admit I almost never use it because it is very very sensitive. Note in its description it says arrives and does an immediate assult. If you order is day time and it arrives at night the assult will not trigger - in my experiance. The problem is if you give both day & night options very very often the assult will be vapour as its effect is so low that the units pike off from combat almost immediately.

The other alternative is the min values for activation in the order - almost anything other than a close range amphib assult has an effect on org this may be dropping things below activation level. This is without interference durring the passage. Conversly if you set the trigger level to low you are just wasting your effort.

The most reliable and effective way is move to landing zone then manualy trigger the assault / landing at the desired time of day.

I virtually only use the order when expecting an unopposed landing - so set it with day & night and minimal activation levels.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the Auto-land is extremely ineffective, I only use the unload option now. Especially for a combined attack with land based troops supporting, the manual unload is the only way to ensure a smooth operation!
