An orgy in CTDs

Hi, I just installed EU2 on my new computer and it is so prone to crasch during play that it is unplayable.

System: AMD Athlon XP2400, 512MB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce4 128MB VRAM, Windows XP, DirectX 9.0a

I have run Windows Update, installed new NVIDIA drivers, renamed the AVI folder to AVI_back, turned off music but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

I play EU2 with the 1.07 patch and no mods at all.

There have been some people with Athlon chips that have experianced problems. Something to do with a bad driver set from Athlon.

There are a few things you can try.
1) Update your operating system with all the latest patches.
2) Run the game in win 98 compatiblity mode.
3) Reduce Video and Audio acceleration.
4) Try a reinstall.
