So far we know that:
- most provinces are at this point same as in DW - the sea province between Stockholm and Finland has been split in two and some provinces may be missing in Italy, no colonised/owned connection between Morocco and Mali (unlike CKII);
- money, manpower and stability are in, prestige and "legitimacy" are possibly in;
- four types of agents - with much lower limits than in EU3, missionaries are in, maximum number may vary between different types of agents;
- start date at least 21st March 1445;
- HRE and Papacy are in "Imperial Authority" and "Papal Influence" may be in;
- decisions are in, so are advisors;
- wars are in, so are temporary CB and truces;
- ships and troops are in, so are battles;
- in videos and screenshotsTimurids and Golden Horde are in but Golden Horde is much smaller than DW 1399, Samogitia is Lithuanian - may be a hint at the start date being in fact 1445;
- fewer mapmodes than DW;
- at least three new variables - "a piece of paper", "a dove", "two swords";
- some things may be constructed in provinces - possibly buildings;
- France appears to be split into France proper and vassals like in DW, most other nations seem to also be in the same shape as in DW;
- some sort of trade routes;
- new map projection (more or less at least - devs say one thing eyes another);
- Manchu is a single nation;
- Tripoli as a nation from early on (possibly from the start);
- crates in Lubeck, Ille-de-France and some other provinces - possible "trade centers";
- possible wasteland southeast of Najd;
- merchants are in (info from another thread);
- rebels are probably in (occupying Gotland);
- American Revolution most likely in (concept art of revolutionary soldier);
- Istria still looks the same way it does in DW.

- Possible PTI in the north of Arabia
I can't see anything like it, the whole map seems to be visible in the video with no white or black spots.

In the screenshot of Denmark, Lübeck clearly has crates in its town space which probably indicates a trade source/destination - this is probably in lieu of the ducat from EU3.

My expectation is that the game will start earlier than 03/21/1445. Look at Ireland - there's already a battle taking place. Plus, there's no real important event that occurs in 1445. It will probably end in 1789 in vanilla EU4.

1399 was quite arbitrary too and the battle might be the result of playing for just a few weeks. So far 21st March 1445 is the earliest date that is definitely in. We also know that the timeline is less than 400 years.

Look at the north of Najd.
Very few people lives here even today. http://www.acceleratingfuture.com/michael/blog/images/population_density_map.png
I
n Eu3 map this area was smaller because of the distorsion of the map projection. But in Eu4 which has a proper map projection, this area needs PTI. It is my guess, not the absolute fact.

Here's to me hoping trade routes can go across land and that you can create them!

It has the same yellow color that the rest of the desert has so it's not Permament Terra Incognita (PTI). It may be Wasteland though (i.e. uncolonisable) just like the bit between Najd and Oman. Which would indeed be perfectly reasonable and make a lot of sense.

Please no PTI. Yes living in these locations might be difficult but perhaps trade routes could go through these PTI areas, not really build there but trade could pass there and someone could say to own it.

PTI and wasteland are the same. (PIT was old, wasteland is its new name and aspect.)

I would like no PTI, but instead passable wastelands with enormous attrition. I think it's closest to reality.

I'm pretty sure there hasn't been a single case of an army crossing the Amazon rainforest or Sahara desert (outside the one route already present in EU3) in the time period.

The fewer mapmodes is annoying. I hope the ones added in the DW patch are brought back in. Or perhaps new, better ones.

This is still pre-alpha. Hopefully they can have a poll of useful map modes, I don't like all the ones in HOI3, too much. most of the ones in Victoria 2 are useful though.

I would guess that this is the monarch power that has been talked about. Admin, diplomacy and military.

An interesting idea. I wonder if we could get a confirmation/denial fro Paradox after all in a week everyone's going to know anyway so no point in keeping it a secret.
Also: is it just me or does Utrecht have a port again?
And it seems that both Slesvig and Holstein have ports facing Helgoland now. I think it used to be different.
