XAC files and graphicalculturetype

XAC and XSM format
Would any programmer be kind enough to release a tool or script to convert from one of the native 3ds max formats into the Rome XAC and XSM files?
Maybe the developers could help with information on this...
I'd be willing to donate money if someone was willing to do it, I really want to make custom models for this engine.
(i've been working on a rather grand mod for EU3 over the past year-and-a-half or so, going to migrate to rome's engine, and having this feature would really mean a lot to me as I am primarily an artist)

EDIT: If any developer could post here, some information on the formatting of these files (i noticed they arent the same as the EU3 "moonchild" files") it'd be very helpful also.

Graphical culturetype
I recently experimented with adding a graphical culture type called "test."
to do this, I first tried copying some unit graphics and city graphics and renaming them to "testgfx" - then telling egypt to use this graphical culturetype. This resulted in the seleucid model being shown for armies. I tried again after adding the entry to "graphicalculturetypes.txt" which caused it to load the carthaginian unit graphic, and the city view was plain blacked out. I'll note down any further experimentation.

update:
based on the filenames, it seems XAC is the mesh file and XSM is the animation... Could it be skeletal animations?

I also noticed in the XAC that (when viewed in hex) it seems the source files were made with Maya, which could be another clue...
