I'm playing as France using the 1792 mod, and I would like to annex the Italian part of Piedmont, but I don't want to control Sardinia as it would be a waste of resources to defend, Problem is that Torino is their capital on mainland Italy, is there anyway to annex their capital without controlling Sardinia as well? Or without annexing the entire state?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Unfortunately you will need to take all a state's territory before you can take the capital. However, although I cannot speak for the 1792 mod, you may be able to release just the island of Sardinia as a satellite after you have annexed them.
Ahh I see, thank you for the reply, I hope DLC's come out to flesh the game out, I wouldn't mind paying a few pounds for some extra diplomatic options like this
1) After annexing piemont, you can dow as fast is possible marocco, sicily or turkey (turkish vassals), and enemy have high chance to capture both Sardinia and Corsica.
And then just sign peace -> just give them this provinces.
If you do this quickly i,n future you will see no british forces there
2) You can give these provinces to other countiries Moje dokumenty\Paradox Interactive\March of the Eagles\mod\1792\history\provinces\...txt
so instead of "PIE" or "FRA" use everywhere "KSJ", or even "GBR". More manpower to british people!!
If you feel this is like "cheating" you can also add 30k army to Piemont, but propably this will not help to much

I think I will go for number one, give them to Sicily and them make them a vassal in another war, a stronger vassal works for me!
