I've been playing as the Umbers for a very long time, and had no problems whatsoever until very recently. I've been getting CTDs every year or so with no event seeming to cause it. Everything on the screen will suddenly stop moving and it will say the game stopped working. This is probably my all-time favorite game and I'd be devastated if the CTDs made it unplayable. :(

Here's the error I find in the error.txt file. I assume it's causing the crash?

[instanttextboxtype.cpp:92]: Not used, use maxWidth and maxHeight file: launcher/interface/main.gui line: 73
[instanttextboxtype.cpp:92]: Not used, use maxWidth and maxHeight file: launcher/interface/main.gui line: 90
[texturehandler.cpp:181]: Couldn't find texture file: .

I've been having this same problem myself, actually, or error reports that are similar. It was working absolutely fine before, with no CTD's, and now this is a problem.

I think I may have found a solution...here's in essence what I did:

1) I verified the integrity of the game cache on Steam (sounds like kind of a "duh" thing, but sometimes you forget that's possible).

2) I went into the game, and on the "Saved Game" screen, deleted all the excess saved games that I didn't need.

Ever since I did that, the game hasn't been crashing every year or so like it was before. I don't know if that really helped all that much, but that's what I did.
