Hello DAIM forum,

I was hoping to borrow some of your AI experience to imporove my mod.

As you may know, my mod features heavily a war between the United and Confederate states.

However, this is where I need your help. The CS (in particular) and US AIs garrison the coasts quite heavily at the expense of the border and furthermore seem to love to put expensive units on relatively obscure islands.

I hope you can help, I hear you do wonders for the AI in HOI2 & DD.

Many thanks in advance.

Try lowering the "beach = x" value in the garrison settings, this should help taking care of the first part of the problem. And you could set "country_priorities = { [TAG] = 100 }" as well in order to indicate the importance of certain borders.

As for the AI choosing which units to use where, this is hardcoded unfortunately. You can influence the quantity, but not the quality.
