By establishing different guild buildings you can focus your troops military skill in various directions (shock, fire, etc). If PdoxLP only bought retinue cavalry I assume he leads a clan big enough to supply him with enough levy infantry to be able to siege, but personally I would recruit retinue infantry as well. As soon as new fort levels start to pop up sieges becomes long and difficult affairs and cavalry don't siege at all.

Thats uninspiring if there are no destinction between samurai and ashigaru infantry.

Samurai cavalry and ashigaru infantry. But there's no difference between retinue and levy units of the same type (i.e. infantry or cavalry).

Also it's sad that sohei are missing too, at the Sengoku period sohei, ashigaru and samurai infantry where quite different beasts even in weaponry and armour, though obviously sohei were far less numerous.

Ikko-ikki will be represented as a fourth rebel type alongside the three religious ones. And they will work slightly different, occuring less often but when they do they will usually come in greater numbers. Unlike other rebels they will also aim to take over the local government of a kori, which means that they will build new buildings, especially improving the castle. So you will be able to see Ikko-ikki strongholds like Ishiyama Hongan-ji.
