All I know, is that it is impossible to use dragons because of this siege trigger problem. However the siege works fine now, but using dragons in battle is still not working :)
The modding team for AGoT has mentioned this issue many times since July I believe. They are on it and may have a fix sooner or later.

This beta release doesn't support dragons, so unless you were planing Aegon's conquest, or Dany's conquest (?) you should be fine (also, if you win Aegon's Conquest without dragons, let me invite you a drink if you ever come to Argentina)

I've been playing with the Beta patch, works fine, and dragons aren't too neutered, they got the siege thing back, and their tactics still work.

So, what exactly is it that doesn't seem to be working with dragons at this point?

So if it still doesnt work for battles only sieges (scratch this if it works for both)
As a mad idea that probably wouldn't work but, what if the field of fire wasn't a decision?
But an on_action battle event with a really high chance of happening? where if you have a dragon you get offered two options, field of fire or not?
Would that work as a work around for the current bug? probably take alot of fiddling to happen though

Edit: no worries, I've tested, both work.
