Hi all,

I've been enjoying this game for some days now and I can say it's really a jewel.

One thing I can not find an answer to (even Google is no help) is on how to influence public safety.

When I take over a province it usually has amazing income above 10.000 gold. After some turns I'm down to 2.000 or so. I guess it might have to do with public safety that idles between 8-10 for my provinces. I noticed that West Mercia, which I just took, has a 19 in public safety. Why did it decline in my other provinces?

I noticed that building some footmen in the settlements improved PS from 8 to 9 or 10. Does recruiting more armies and station them in the settlements help? However, this would mean that profit and costs will most likely cancel each other out...

Any help is highly appreciated!

1. Give fiefdoms to heroes with bonuses to public safety
2. Make research "Royal inspectors"
3. Turn off law "Right to carry arms" if you use it
4. Make upgrade "City watch" in Magistrate in a Stronghold

Thanks, I will certainly look into that.

Is there any information on how the presence of troops affects public safety. From my small experiment, it seemed that 2 footmen increased PS by 1.
In TW, you need your cities garrisoned. Maybe a similar effect here?

Did not make any expiriments with garrisons and public safety. But when 2 powerful armies are in any province nothing happens with PS.

///In TW, you need your cities garrisoned

If mood of the population of the province is bad.

///Maybe a similar effect here?

It is definetly that not similar.
