Hi, I got some problem with installing aod with 1.9 and 1.10 It cant use the display settings program and hardly start. I didnt have this problem on win7.

yesterday I manged to get AOD working with 1.10. with visual c++ 2015, but my OS started to have problems like slowdowns and said over and over to restart. Afther that I had to reset windows 10 and that created much work for me.

Please share some system details like graphics card and drivers used. Best run dxdiag and save + upload the report file

Ok, I do that later. Since the I could not change resolution via the settings program I wrote directly into the width and height:

0 #LANGUAGE (0=english, 1 = french etc..)
1 #MUSIC (1 for on)
0 #WINDOWED MODE (1 for on)
europa.valkyrienet.com
1920 #Width
1080 #Height
1 # Disable intro

Just whant to make sure, but you downloaded and installed the 32-Bit and not the 64-Bit?

As the AoD is a 32-bit program the library's needed are in the 32-Bit variant, But NOT IN the 64-Bit variant. This information is on the patch tread but did not see the information on your post above so install the 32-Bit and try agen.

And yes you can use both the 64-Bit and 32-Bit on a Win 10 64-Bit they are not same. The proplem is also on other windows's but you likely had installed the library earlyer upgrade to Win 10 may have removed them for legal, technical, mystical, astrological, or for some other reason. I had the same happen to me.

The game stops working on "initialising graphics" for me. I´m using WIN 10 (64 bit), AMD Radeon R9 390 graphics card. I,ve installed visual c++ (the .86 version), starting as Admin, WIN 7 compability mode - doesn´t work.

Yes, AMD has apparently removed legacy DirectDraw support in their last driver update. I do not think they will do anything about it.
- The only workaround I am aware of is to downgrade your graphics driver to an older version.

This issue will (or should, at least,) be fixed on AoD's side before 1.11 enters beta. As to an actual ETA though, I currently have no idea, sadly.

I also cannot load AoD anymore.

I have the Steam AoD release and my system is Win7 x64 with an AMD R9 380 card. Last time I played the game I had the 15.12 driver installed. Now it doesnt work with the newer ones (16.7.2 or 16.9.2)
The problem is I cannot revert to a older driver each time I want to start AoD.

And I already have the most recent Visual c++ installed anyway.

Thanks Zsar for clarifiying that you are aware of this issue on AMD card. I assume this will get fixed with AoD v1.11

Just picked this up and am having trouble even starting the game. I was already having trouble with the c++ 2015 issue with Skyrim SE so hopefully once I get that fixed, AoD will work at that time as well. So far, I'm still having trouble getting the correct c++ files to install but that's not an AoD problem, it's a problem with my PC that I'm working on. However, if there is some other issue that might lead to the game not starting at all, I'd be happy for any tips, just in case it's not the dll problem that as I said already existed.
