AoD is using deleted counters

I can't blieve it: I replaced a dozen or so counters (correct 256 colour bmp and size) by copy-pasting them into the palette folder. I started a new game (I didn't load an old one) and the old counters are still there! How is that possible!? I deleted them!

hmmm I had a problem like this with some older version of HOI2. As I recall it has something to do with the file hoi_counter_strip.bmp having to match the counter files.

Doesn't that file just contain the different NATO symbols? How can it mess up my mod?

I don't know how it works really, but for some reason, back then when I tried to replace the counter files, it would just show the old ones until someone adviced me and directed me to a modified counter_strip file which made it work.

Unfortunately I don't have it anymore because it was for an older version of HOI2. All I have now is the file AOD came with.
