Hey, first time posting in the forum, but this has confused me.

Second heir turned out a lot better than the first, and I want to give him the good ole' honorary Despot title to make him number one.

However, I can't find the Despot title anywhere under honorary titles. This is made even more bizarre by the fact that "Open Council Positions: Despot of Byzantine Empire" has been up as an alert for nearly the entire game, yet when I click the alert, I just go to the standard five council spots, none of which are Despot.

Any idea where I'm going wrong? I would've figured it was simply removed for the mod, if not for the constant alert. I know I can disinherit my first born, but I'd rather not unless necessary.

That option isn't there for any character. It isn't even that it's grayed out; its simply not on the menu.

It also won't let me disinherit my heir; it says I don't have a suitable adult child pretender, but his younger brother is also an adult and seemingly should have a claim to the throne as well.

The succession law is still at the default for Byzantines, haven't altered them at all. Don't have any other major titles that have different succession laws either (for this very reason, I didn't usurp Bulgaria or any other kingdoms). If it matters, my ruler is Reformed Hellenic, and I created the Pontifex Maximus. Don't see why it should, but figured I'd mention it either way. Heirs are all Hellenic too.

Council tab doesn't show the empty council position, it just shows the standard five council positions. I've attached a screenshot of both the notification that I have a spot to be filled, and my council view if I open it.

Oh, you're online. Can you run the game without conclave and see if honorary despot title is there?
Sure, I'll run it when I get home on lunch. I'll test both released and dev. I posted that comment shortly before going to bed last night.

i got another despot related problem,i appointed my second born son as despot, since my firstborn is crap, but my firstborn is still my heir.
I thought despot title would make the one it is granted to my heir?

:/

no, it just behaves like "purple born".

now, since you're ignoring my question about other mods, and checksum, i'm going to start ignoring you.

Woah woah woah, that other guy wasn't me lol, I was just busy with work so I couldn't respond right away.

No other mods. Perhaps this is a dumb question, but is the checksum the code in parentheses next to the current version number? If so, mine is PXNO.

Any idea why it won't let me disinherit my heir? I'm willing to do that as well.

oh, sorry.

But that is the wrong checksum. meaning you're not running CK2Plus, you're running something else. You should make a clean install.

Wait, I might have submitted the wrong checksum. Now it is saying TPOW? Haven't changed anything, but last time I checked in-game rather than the launcher.
Here is my launcher. Could it be that the mod is out of date?

Ah, yep. Just checked, the mod is out of date. 4.04.6. Definitely out of date. Going to go and download that new patch now. I'm too used to EU4, which automatically disables a mod if its out of date.

Thank you for all your help!

It also won't let me disinherit my heir; it says I don't have a suitable adult child pretender, but his younger brother is also an adult and seemingly should have a claim to the throne as well.

It really depends on whether his younger brother is a pretender (meaning his portrait shows up in the succession line). Only a pretender is counted as an "eligible heir".

He would also have to be your religion, culture, and dynasty...and NOT be incapable, lunatic, or possessed.
