Appropriate mod for Byzantine Empire

I am not very familiar with the various EU II mods so I need some advices. I would like to play the Byzantines when they were not in such a desperate situation (it could be from the 8th ou 9th century or after but before the 15th century). Is there a mod or a scenario that makle this possible?

AOI and WATKABAOI have 14th century scenarios where do weren't in such a bad situation, but if you would like to try a fantasy scenario mod I would recommend Interregnum. :)

Ok thanks, I think I will go with Age of Imperialism then.
 
Age of Imperialism is great fun, however I have a question, does it have a no time limit? In my Byzantine game its now 1945 (!) and its still going. I tought the game would end in 1913?

Well, the no time limit patch makes the game last forever, basically. It should have displayed the end-of-game screen in 1913, though.

If you wish to play as the Byzantines from some earlier dates, you must try other mods: the 476 scenario (you can start in 476, 527 and 632 and play until 814, the Romans are obviously available), AJFIFU (775-1150, if I remember correctly) and the Mongol Empire Scenario (1150-1419). All of them are really great stuff, with the little hindrance in AJFIFU being shittily translated events (it's been made in French or German at first, I think, and someone used some online translator to anglicize the events :rolleyes:). You can acquire them from THIS list, THIS thread and THIS thread (scroll down the page to find them).

The mod isn't intended to be played further than 1913, and I recommend ending there. But if people want to play on, they can do so.
