Just wondering, it was fine when I was using disrupters but once I tried using lasers with swarm computers it seems like every ship began cycling very far away from the enemy, unable to use their mandibles (main damage source) and they all just started losing every combat.

Without the advanced swarm computers, using the one without bonuses (empty slot) they seem far more effective

Edit: Tried another combat with swarm computers at speed 3, and they were more effective, I have no idea if it's just random/luck based or if there's something wrong with their behavior, very often they distance themselves from the target, fly in circles and refuse to engage, sometimes they just go for it and kill the enemy ship very quickly

Edit2: Yep, it seems like removing these battle computers makes them far better & more reliable, even without any buffs. They seem bugged.

That's right. Not only the swarm combat computer used by bioships, but regular ships also suffer from similar issues. It just hasn't been very noticeable until now for various reasons.
You might find my thread helpful for more details.
