Hy folks

I've changed my computer from an Laptop to an (old) AMD64 3500+. Both have 1 gig memory.

Burt on the new machine the whole game runs incredibly slow. Slower than on the less powerful laptop. Is this because always played Arma 1.1 /w Compendium 1.1 on the laptop and now Arma 1.2 /w Compendium 1.1 on the dekstop? should I add more ram? what the hell is it?

Thanks for any clue

Run 1.2 Arma... while it does not fix all the ghost fleets it does get rid of most of them...

Ghost fleets, late game countries with many more divisions....

I do not know much about the mod you are playing .... are you experienceing the same slow downs with a standard install of 1.2 Arma?

an unmodded install is as slow as a modded, so it has to be the system. I already did a windows repair install, at least i now have a leg.... errm activated windows installation ;) Well I'll give SP3 a try too, but i don't expect much. normally SP3 slows down XP. But maybe ...

In the meantime i play on the laptop with the external TFT. So I can play in 1280*1024 at least.

btw: did you ever get it running in higher resolutions? Hope this will be changed in HOI3.

Nevertheless, this is THE game which kept me playing the longest time ever. I just love it. (Not like my girlfriend, she hates the Nazi flags in the compendium mod ;) )

Please post full computer specs if you want help.

I spent 2.5k on my computer a couple years ago and still don't have to worry about games...<3 the hardwares. Ram is always good up to about 3.25 gigs on a 32bit system. But most of paradoxes games have bad performance for older comps (At least when you're trying to run the time fast anyway).

I'm having a similar problem, where in around 1943 my game is facing heavy slowdown, to the point where the game freezes up for a full 30 second every 6 game hours or so. Now my computer is top of the line, I'm on xp and plays all the latest games quite easily. So does anyone know what i could do?
