ARMA CTD when I press "start" in the campaign selection screen

I have this error with ARMA, the menus and everything look entirely normal but when I select a scenario and click "start" I get a CTD (black screen) where the game doesn't respond and I have to shut it down manually. I have SMEP(DDV) and GIP 0.6 installed, is it possible that either one of these mods is causing the CTD? I've heard that SMEP(DDV) works with ARMA, don't know about GIP though.
