I have a steam install of HoI2 Complete and am able to play just fine on my MBP in XP but when I try to play Armageddon on my PC (Vista 64) it crashes after selecting a country and pressing start (any country any year). HoI2 non armageddon works fine but not armageddon. Has anyone had this problem before?

Did you read this thread: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=416565 ?

While I'm not sure about the nature of your problem, might it be that you installed Armageddon to "C:\program files"? If so, uninstall and reinstall it to any other directory, like "C:\Games\Doomsday Armageddon" or something else. Vista acts very strange when installing anything into Program Files.

I know of many people playing Arma on Vista computers, so I have to ask this question, too: Did you install it correctly? First Doomsday, then Arma onto Doomsday, then the Arma patch? Usually crashs are results of wrong installs or false patching...

Hi, thanks for the quick response.

Yes that was the first hit on my 2 hour google hunt for an answer.

I installed my game from Steam so it is installed in the typical steam spot. What is particularly weird in my case is that it works to the menu but not after starting a game, it sounded like the linked post was about the game not working at all.
