Armies don't want to attack anymore

I was playing the game and all of a sudden my units refused to attack anymore. I can give the order, but the movement arrow does not appear nor do they move.I am using the most up to date patch.

Does the game clock still advance through the hours, or has it stopped as well?

I have found if I save the game and reboot it, the problem seems to go away. Thanks tho.
