Army composition

Hi,

I haven't played that game for like 5 years, but one thing keep bugging me:
What was the successfull army composition. I was usually scrambling a lot of HI, some archers, HC and CA.
Ignoring mil and elephants.

But assuming you have access to every type: what do you use and in what ratio?

Hi,

I don't have very strict rules (except no mil indeed). I can say however, that I like having a ful cav stack striking deep in ennemy territory to cut reinforcements and chase small ennemy stacks (full cav because it's faster, so it can easily run or catch the ennemy).

I use lots of HI to hold front and centre, flanks with cav, archers in support. have all front as HI with 2 HC either flank, and 4 HI in reserve, plus 1 caveither flank in reserve for pursuit. then loads of archers for support fire.
