Ascension path: How to get the required technologies?

I haven't played much since the grand archive and machine age. Just started a new playthrough and my goals are:
- synthetic ascension
- lots of vassals
- be the senate

But my biggest issue is like always, how to get the required technologies for the ascend. I don't know what technologies to pick up to get to my goal. So according to the wiki, I need to finish the synthetics tradition. That I can start it, I need Artificial Administration. Since I am just short after the tutorial stage (only 380h) I am still struggling with directions for my research team...

How do I get a more or less clear path to that technology?

When you take the ascension perk for an ascension path, you unlock a council agenda that unlocks techs relevant to your ascension path, eventually unlocking the tech you need to start the tradition tree. Completing the agenda will give you 25% completion of the tech and make it a permanent research option.

For synth ascension, these techs are (in order):
Powered Exoskeletons (early game tech)
Artificial Workforce (robots)
Artificial Specialists (robot specialists)
Artificial Administration (the tech you actually need)

Researching these techs without the agenda (if they happen to come up) will help to speed things up.

This is all good, but as additional notes:

1. Mechanists origin will start you off with some robot techs and bonuses
2. Synthetic Fertility origin will speed run you to synthetic ascension
3. Make sure you know what two ascension perks you want to pick before the synthetic ascension itself, as you can't actually pick that until you have selected (not unlocked) two ascension perks already. This also means you need to produce enough unity to finish three trees before picking it and then the synthetics tree itself. If your desired perks have prerequisites, plan ahead to unlock them.
